Christmas Policy on Adoptions

Here is my Christmas Policy in a nutshell - animals are not gifts.

It’s NEVER a good idea to surprise anyone with a pet. There’s a big difference between “I would like Guinea Pigs” and “I have thoroughly researched and considered all aspects of pet ownership and now I am ready to have Guinea Pigs.” Rescues are currently under huge demand for spaces, as last year's ill-considered Christmas piggies are needing to be rehomed.

Guinea Pigs can live 5-7 years, that’s a big commitment! If you are thinking of adopting for children to enjoy - they might be keen now, but what will they be doing 5 years down the line? They might have a more active social life, more intense studies etc.

Before any adoptions take place I need to see proof of your set-up and proof of your experience with Guinea Pigs/ research you have undertaken, you can’t just show up and take some Guinea Pigs.

I intend on staying open for adoptions throughout the festive period, but please do not be offended if you get a bit of a grilling!
